  i continue to read how franz is to blame for every wrong because, after all, he was on the governing body and he had to know everything that went on.

  some here say, "let's drop this issue".

  these same ones continue to bring it up.

  i see that ray franz is coming in for a fair bit of criticism due to his apparrant unwillingness to accept that jw's had a problem with the existence of child abuse when he was a member of the gb.

  also, it would appear that ray is being chided for his belief in the rule of 2 witnesses before action can be taken against an abuser.

  it seems to me that it is quite likely that ray wasn't aware that there was a serious abuse problem within the society when he was a member of the gb, if only for the reason that ray would find such an activity so detestable that he would believe it to be a virtually impossible act for anyone to perpetrate.

  Ray bears no personal responsibility in the UN issue, so he is free to talk about it. The pedophile problem is one in which he personally must bear responsibility for, so he cannot address it now can he.

  i saw the thread on tbn, and felt this question was a good one to pose to the board.. .

  tithing is being preached more and more in many christian denominiations.

  a chrisitian is under obligation before anything else to give 10% of gross income to the church.

  i was at the meeting on sunday and one brother mentioned how jws are heeding the scripture at matthew 24:14, you know, about the kingdom being preached, and he said how in every corner of the world jws are now found and it's a fulfillment of the scripture.

  then the thought struck me that if that were true, then when people think of jws they should think "god's kingdom".

  not in my experience, as when going from door to door or what colleagues at work have said.

  why is this day observed as jesus's birthday?

  because some christians thought it was fine to mingle christianity with paganism.

  So there is no evidence showing the 25th is not Jesus' birthday, just a common agreement that the 25 was a significant day before Jesus was born on it. Wow maybe I should just go back to the Borg I never get enough bull shit clams like this one, with no evidence. I know, maybe the Catholics hid the evidence in there underground evidence hiding room with the rest of the WT support.

  I refuse to take a clim at face value any more! Never again. is there no evidence? None was posted except bull "we all know" statements.

  We all know we were force feed bull for so long we are halve full of it. I need to see outside sources.

  I am interested in seeing any evidence that Christmas is not Jesus' birthday. Is it only because the day has significance outside of the Christian calendar?

  I have only read about this in the WT published rags. Were can I find a more reliable source of info?

  has anyone ever studied the salem witch hunts and trails.

  what i found interesting about these, is how people who claimed to be peaceful, could get so riled up, that they were willing to kill people.

  the spark that lit the fire was often a rumor or false accusations that got out of hand, or perhaps a misunderstanding on a issue or people thinking they saw something they didn't.
